“La domenica italiana” is something almost holy. We don’t have to hurry to work, we take a break from the hectic working days’ routine and, we may cook more elaborate dishes. All the family get together, we have a day trip, or a meal together and talk and talk about what we have done during the week. We enjoy quality time the people we love, we seek and give advice to face our lives better.
Women, usually mothers or mothers in-law are in charge of the kitchen and cook (too much) food for all the family. I spend more time in the kitchen on Sunday too, nevertheless I prefer quality to quantity, so I indulge in more elaborate and flavorful dishes, but just once a week. In fact, I also prepare a cake.
Here, you will find those recipes to celebrate special days and occasions. Please, keep in mind: once a week, moderate portions. On Mondays, you will get back to your ordinary weekly routine made of healthy and low-calorie dishes.
