Caprese salad

Everyone in the world knows it, and you must have tasted it at least once. It is caprese, or caprese salad, the symbol of Italy par excellence-for the color, because it is simple, or just because it is tasty, that's all.
I have eaten it in Atlanta in an Italian-style restaurant, in Philadelphia too; and I have seen it in a lot of menus in Orlando. Well, this salad is well-known everywhere.
Just three ingredients: fresh tomatoes, mozzarella (or burrata), extra virgin olive oil. You don't need nothing more than this.
You may add plenty of other ingredients, if you long for a stronger taste. I usually top it with some sun-dried tomatoes, basil, and some green olives.
It is an absolutely light dish, it is fresh and fast to prepare. My tip? High-quality ingredients.
Go to the supermarket and buy small-sized tomatoes (Piccadilly or cherry tomatoes would be the perfect), and then some mozzarella (opt for the one made from organic local milk), and biological cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. it is the top grade of olive oil, full of taste and healthy nutrients such us antioxidant, Vitamin E, and oleic acid which protects the hearth and prevents arterial stiffness. You can make your caprese salad richer: top it with some aromatic herbs.
Do you have any aromatic herbs? Basil, rosemary, marjoram, oregano should be part of your kitchen; they enhance the taste of your dish, make pour house cozier and scented. Believe me, they are very easy to grow: I am not really good at gardening, but my aromatic kitchen plants are quite luxuriant. If I can do it myself, you will do it as well.
Caprese salad is a main course: vegetables, proteins from quite fat source (so you can have it once or twice a week, no more), and high-quality fats from the extra virgin olive oil. Combine it with two slices of unrefined bread, about 60gr for a woman, or 100gr for an average built man: that's your complete satisfying meal. If you don't feel sated enough, have some green salad; when you are hungrier than usual, some salad always helps you to get rid of this unpleasant feeling.
This meal provides you with the right balance and you won't feel hungry in the following hours.
