Cherry tomatoes au gratin

It is easy and tasty. Just cook some cherry tomatoes au gratin with breadcrumbs and aromatic herbs. It is a typical summer recipe, when the tomatoes are ripe and sweet, better if they come from your own garden.


  • 500-700 gr

    Datterino or cherry tomatoes

  • 50-80 gr


  • 50 gr

    Grated Parmigiano cheese

  • 20 gr


  • 20 gr


  • 2-3


    Extra virgin olive oil

  • Salt and pepper 


  • Wash, dry, and cut the tomatoes into two halves lengthwise. Sprinkle them with some salt and leave them upside down for 10 minutes.
  • Thinly chop the basil and the parsley, then add the breadcrumbs and the Parmigiano cheese.  Season with salt, pepper and a little oil. Mix well to combine all the ingredients. 
  • Layer the tomatoes onto a baking dish and top them with the mixture of Parmigiano and breadcrumbs. Sprinkle with little oil. 
  • Pre heat the oven at 180° C (356°F) and roast for about 20 minutes.
