Steak Sandwich

- 1½ lb top sirloin steak
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 head garlic
- 1 sprig thyme
- 2 loaves ciabatta bread
- Salt and Pepper
Onions
- 2 red onions
- 4 tbsp white wine vinegar
- Salt and Pepper
Salad
- 2 romaine lettuce
- 1 tbsp tabasco sauce
- 1 beefsteak tomato
- Salt and Pepper
Sauce100 gr mayonnaise100 gr mayonnaise
- 100 gr mayonnaise
- 100 gr grain mustarde
Steak
Season the steak with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Heat a non-stick pan over high heat.
Sear the steak on all sides for 5-6 minutes.
Add a halved head of garlic, thyme, and butter.
Baste the steak with butter for a few minutes.
Remove the steak from the pan.
Let the steak rest covered with aluminum foil for 10 minutes.In the same pan, without washing it, toast the halved ciabatta loaves for a few minutes.
Vegetables
Wash and place the romaine lettuce in a bowl.
Season the lettuce with oil, salt, pepper, and a teaspoon of Tabasco sauce.
Wash and cut the tomato into half-inch-thick slices.
Onions
Roughly julienne the red onions.In a small saucepan, add the sliced onions.
Season the onions with salt and pepper.
Add the vinegar and cook for 6-7 minutes with the lid closed.
In a small bowl, mix the grainy mustard and mayonnaise.
Slice the steak into half-inch-thick slices and begin assembly.
Assembly
Spread the sauce on both halves of the bread.
Place the tomato slices and then the lettuce.
Arrange the sliced steak neatly.
Add the onions on top.
